Vegetative Propagation of Lavender (Lavandula vera V.) by Using Green Cuttings

A continuous in vivo method for rooting of lavender green cuttings was worked out. Cloned in vitro and adapted in vivo plants were used as suitable initial material. The first taking of green cuttings started after a month's adaptation and every successive taking occurred at an interval of 25-30 days. During that time the plants with removed stem apices formed well-developed vegetative shoots from their base. Effective rooting of green cuttings (93%) was achieved on soil substratum consisting of onepart peat and 4 parts density mix of vermiculite and perlite for a period of 20-22 days. The result of 77.5% rooting on the soil substratum where the peat is combined with sand and perlite was satisfactory.
