摘要

To improve the filtration efficacy of polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) membranes in milk processing, a series of chemical modifications are proposed in this study. First the membranes were treated in KOH/KMnO_4 and then H_2SO_4/NaHSO_3 solutions to introduce active groups on to the membrane surface to turn them into hydrophilicity. Next glycerin solution was used to improve the chemical durability of the modified membrane surface. By measuring the flux through the membranes during filtration, significant performance improvement was confirmed. The treatment parameters, including the reagent concentrations, temperature and reaction time etc, were adjusted as well to seek the optimal reaction conditions.
