Pointing out the difference of the concept "psychological violence" at work, from "psychological harassment " or Mobbing, this study documents the prevalence of both in the organizational chart context of Costa Rica. This document is the first report about prevalence of psychological violence and mobbing in Central America. It is based on the exploratory study with 139 workers of some cities and industrial fields in Costa Rica, by applying the "Inventory of Violence and Psychological Mobbing at Work" (Pando, 2006a) IVAPT-PANDO. The results mark psychological violence use at work is a very spread practice; in the populations studied, a 74.8% of the subjects have suffered diverse psychological violence types, classified by IVAPT as high level; 19.4% of the workers are Mobbing victims.
