Stepwise Synthesis and Coordination Compound of an Inorganic Cryptand

Crown ethers and cryptands are very useful ligands in the stabilization of unusual saltlike compounds.They are currently the most widely used ligands in the preparation of crystalline materials containing Zintl anions.Formal sub stitution of the C2H4 groups in crown ethers by SiR2 groups yields cyclosiloxanes.
