Effects of Weld Materials on Galvanic Corrosion Behavior of Hot–Dip Aluminized Steel in Seawater

摘要

In order to investigate the influence of weldmetals, i.e., LB 26, NB3N and NC 39, on the corrosion rate ofthe hot-dip aluminized steel in seawater, the immersion tests ofgalvanic couples in artificial seawater were made. The galvaniccouples consist of three specimens, i.e., carbon steel, Fe-Al alloyand weld metals, which are connected each other by lead wires.It was found that the corrosion rate of carbon steel coupled toNC 39 was less than that of carbon steels coupled to NB 3 N orLB 26. Under galvanic coupling condition with LB 26, LB 26and carbon steel suffered from corrosion, while Fe-Al alloy did not corrode.
