摘要

Hoping for a more favorable response from the Obama administration, the Cornucopia Institute, a Wisconsin-based organic watchdog group, has revived a two-year-old complaint about oils added to organic infant formula. The additives, DHA and ARA, are nutritional oils extracted through use of the solvent hexane and added to most conventional as well as organic formula brands. The oils are extracted and marketed by Maryland-based Martek Corporation. Cornucopia claims they've been linked to serious illness in some infants (see FCN April 21, 2008, Page 22).
