摘要

The susceptibility of heavy-thick low-alloy steels to stress corrosion cracking (SCC) was investigated by slow strain rate tensile (SSRT) tests in high-temperature water (373 K to 593 K) containing various levels of dissolved oxygen (DO). Rolled steels with high sulfur content were susceptible to SCC in the broad region of temperature-DO concentration combinations, even in DO < 0.005 ppm at 473 K. A forged steel with extremely low sulfur content was almost immune to SCC. Based on the SSRT results, mappings of SCC as a function of temperature and DO concentration were proposed for each steel.
