The hull form design Process had traditionally been based on experience and experiments until computer application started things to change. Nevertheless, it is not yet based on exact methods in all cases. It is still a lengthy, distributed and mostly sequential process, characterized by a number of non-integrated tools. The need for concurrent engineering in addition to fast, efficient and reliable toots is obvious, but so are the obstacles. In this study, the interpolating Bezier function was used to investigate the effectiveness of the same for fairing lines plan of five different inland/coastal vessels belonging to as many categories. The objective is to develop a mathematical tool to substitute the fairing system practiced in the shipyard loft floor. The fairing was carried out for individual sections. Bezier function was used because of the flexibility of these methods in fitting complex curves. The results of the faring procedure show that this method is suited for fairing of double curvature sections and concave sections but are found to be less wit in fairing convex sections.
