The irrigation engineering center project in Thailand (Phase II)

In February 1982, the Government of Thailand requested Japanese assistance for the Royal Irrigation Department (RID) for the construction of an Irrigation Engineering Center (IEC) building, provision of equipment, and project-type technical cooperation. The Government of Japan donated grant assistance of I, 770 million yen in order to construct two buildings at Samsen and Pakret with machinery and equipment necessary for technical cooperation under the Exchange of Note (E/N) dated June 27, 1983. After completion, the facilities were handed over to RID in March 1985. The Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) dispatched an Implementation Survey Team in March 1985 to sign the Record of Discussion on mutual discussion, understanding and cooperation among the authorities of both parties. The technical cooperation activities of the IEC (Phase I) were implemented in accordance with the Record of Discussion for five years after April 1985.
