A review with 35 refs. covering the specific features of homo and copolymerization of vinyl monomers with allyl compounds an dolefins, initiated by organometallic compounds of non-transition metals. When coordinated to the growing macroradicals, the organometallic compounds modify the reactivity and thus directyl affect the formation of macromolecules at the chain growth step.
