作为一个诗人，菲利普·拉金主张英国诗歌传统精神的继承和发扬，反对英美现代主义诗歌理念。在自己的诗歌实践中，通过以闲谈式的口语体反映个人经验及脏字俚语的使用，创立诗歌形式和内容上的不确定原则及深度模式的消解等，呈现出一种后现代诗风。%Philip Larkin advocated the transmission and promotion of British traditional Poetics after WWII while he objected strongly to British and American modern Poetics. He presented a kind of postmodern poetic style by using conversational colloquial style to reflect individual experience, bad languages and slang, creative principles of inde⁃terminacy in poetry form and matter as well as the resolving of profound mode.
