As he has created a legend, Chang Yao would also like to express his thought via legends in pursuit of some universality and transcendence, so in other words, Chang Yao himself, his poems and his conduct have constituted a distinctive spiritual phenomenon quite distinct from other persons. In this sense, Chang Yao is a mir-ror which reflects not only his own contradictions and feebleness but also the complexity and dubiousness of common people.
