摘要

Peptide-based drugs show great promise as potential therapeutics, due to the structural similarity to endogenous compounds, allowing for targeting of preexisting binding sites. Unfortunately, peptides are also highly susceptible to enzymatic degradation. Additionally, for potential neuroactive drugs, penetration of the blood brain barrier (BBB) becomes a key concern, as peptides tend to have poor BBB permeation.
