Most abundant lipid class found was TAGs followed by PC and PE. The in-house developed (by ICAR-NRC Grapes) variety (Medika) showed the highest lipid content amongst all. 1. Based on the PCA analysis, common and unique TAGs were identified in each variety. 2. Higher degree of unsaturated fatty acids (>70%) having nutritional significance were identified. 3. Azelaic acid, a unique fatty acid with anti-bacterial properties is reported for the first time in grape seeds 4. Around 25 anthocyanins were identified by HRMS full scan analysis with maximum number of compounds being detected in Cabernet Sauvignon followed by Medika. 5. These techniques can be used for nutritional labeling on food products 6. Grape seeds (a potential bi-product from winery) can be commercially utilized for the natural anti-oxidants and edible vegetable oil production.
