Theoretical Systematics and Methodology of Contemporary Geochemistry

The author presents a version of theoretical systematics and methodology of contemporary geochemistry on the basis of retrospect of the history of development of geochemistry and the advance of modem sciences. The definition and the four basic domains of geochemistry with their respective fundamental theories as well as the object of study and the aim of geochemistry are put forward. The scientific basis of geochemistry and fundamental disciplinary branches of geochemistry arc outlined; among the latter theoretical geochemistry is especially separated. The enumerated seven important attributes endow geochemical systems with innate character of "Self-Organization of Complex Geochemical Dynamical Systems". Any geochemical system must be fitted in the reference system of geochemical processes and spatio-temporal structure. Geochemical systems once fitted in this reference system will exhibit self-organized criticality. Thereby a new proposition "Self-Organized C'riticality of Complex Geochemical Dynamical Systems" is advanced which reflects the mechanisms of "Spatio-Temporal Fractal Dynamics of Self-Organized Criticality". The mechanisms and laws of generation and development of sell-organized criticality should be the fundamental task of geochemical researches. The fundamental theories of the first basic domain of the system of geochemistry (structure of the IZtirth's material) are quantum geochemistry and cosmochemistry, and those of the other three domains (geoehemical processes, geochemical courses, and geochemical fields) are the generalized geochemical dynamics and the theory of complexity and self-organization. Methodology of contemporary geochemistry involves cognitive processes of enclo/exo dichotomy and subject/object dichotomy as well as a systematological approach conjugated with analytical approach in which holism is combined with reductionism and macrophysics is complemented with microphysics.
