The systematic study of diamond separation witha number of heteropolar collectors (aerofloats, xanthates, fattyacids, hydroxamic acids, amines) was conducted. It was foundthat collecting power (the reagents is proportional to theiradsorption rates at "gasliquid" (GL) interface. This criterionwas used to select the most effective reagents. For practicalapplication, the long chain Aerofloats and long chainalkylhydroxamic acids were recommended. As heteropolarcollector, Aerofloat based on long chain alcohols together withMazut was industrially used, allowing to improve diamondrecovery by 1-2 percent.
