To achieve optimal transfer connections and shorten the waiting time of transfer passengers in urban rail transit, this paper proceeds from a perspective of network operation to analyze the target, characteristics, methods, and influence factors of network coordination. An optimal model of a train timetable coordination for transfer connections is proposed to minimize the average transfer waiting time by arranging the arrival and departure times of the trains at transfer stations. Particle swarm optimization (PSO) is used to solve the model, so the train timetable of the optimal transfer connections can be obtained as well. Then, the model and algorithm are used to coordinate the transfer connections in a three-line transfer topological structure by programming and simulating on MATLAB. The result indicates that this model and algorithm can effectively shorten the average transfer waiting time and optimize the transfer connections of the entire network.
