In order to meet the information demands for connected vehicles, this study develops a novel multi-source information fusion algorithm and in-vehicle data collection terminal. Firstly, the intelligent vehicle-mounted terminal can analyze the vehicle bus data according to J1939 protocol and collaborate with other sensors. Secondly, we developed a real-time vehicle data management system to share the vehicle data and send the traffic conditions and guidance information to the terminals by vehicular communication system, which can enhance the safety and improve the traffic information service. Finally, we establish an online traffic evaluation system based on the fuzzy theory for traffic simulation. By integrating the dynamic vehicle-mounted data and static intersection information, this system can generate a set of road evaluation indicators based on real-time data. By comparing the evaluation results and field conditions, the simulation results showed that the algorithm and terminal is feasible.
