Objective To investigate the exactly relationship between smoking and systolic blood pressure (SBP), diastolic blond pressure (DBP), and the rank of blood pressure, and to provide evidences for hypertension prevention and cure and tobacco control.Methods 1'he methods of mufti-stage random cluster sampling and KISH card were used to sample the investigation areas and subjects.14 investigation areas and 4480 subjects were included in this study.The questionnaire was used to investigate sex, age, smoking, drinking liquor, eating habit, physical activity, and so on, and 4318 completed questionnaires were got.Body height, bodyweight, waistline, blood pressure and other biomarkers were measured for all subjects.Results The average SBP and DBP in men were significant higher than that in women, and Heat,also in smoking and nonsmoking.The results of correlation analysis indicated that there were significant relationships between the amount of tobacco use and SBP (pearson correlation-0.067, p=0.004), DBP (pearson correlation=0.075, p=0.001),and rank of blood pressure (pearson correlation=0.053, p=0.022).As the age, sex, BMI, waistline, and so on were adjusted, the results of multi-Logistic analysis indicated that OR of got hypertension was 1.196 (95% CI was 1.056-1.355) in smoking person compared with nonsmoking, the OR was increased as the, amount of tobacco use was raised.Conclusion There were significant relationships between smoking and SPB, DBP and the rank of blood pressure.Smoking can significant increase the risk of hypertension.
