The present invention relates to an apparatus and method for separating a chip from a release tape to which a plurality of chips are attached, and more particularly, to a plurality of chips having a small size such as a multi-layer ceramic capacitor (MLCC) attached thereto. The present invention relates to a chip separation device capable of improving productivity by easily separating chips from a release tape, and a chip separation method using the device.
