PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a deposition inhibitor for inclusion hydrate crystals which is stable in a system allowing the formation of the crystals and is highly effective in retarding and inhibiting the formation. ;SOLUTION: This deposition inhibitor contains a high-molecular compd. obtd. by modifying a high-molecular compd. having 5- to 15-membered cyclic pendants each bonded directly to the polymer chain through one atom constituting the cycle (e. g. polyvinylpyrrolidone, polyvinylpiperidinone, or polyvinylcaprolactam) with a vinyl monomer or contains a high-molecular compd. obtd. by copolymerizing an ethylenically unsatd. monomer having a 5- to 15-membered cyclic pendant bonded directly to the ethylenically unsatd. group through one atom constituting the cycle (e.g. vinylpyrrolidionone or vinylcaprolactam and a 3-6C alkyl (meth)acrylate.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1997,JPO
