PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lens for optical scanning with small reflected light which prevents the output of scanning light from decreasing and further prevents a ghost from being formed with light reflected by the lens for optical scanning and further reflected by a wall at the circumference of the lens. SOLUTION: The lens for optical scanning which is formed of a columnar rotary body having a refraction part for refracting light covered with a transparent body has, an incidence part 1 for the light of the refraction part which has the same refractive index as the refractive index of the transparent body covering the refraction part, a projection surface 2 for the light of the refraction part which is so shaped that the light can be emitted vertically, and an inner side 3 of the refraction part which has a refractive index gradually changing from the incidence surface to the projection surface. The light which is made incident from the flank of the rotary body is refracted and a scan is made through the rotation of the rotary body with the light projected from the flank of the rotary body.
