PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a laser welding quality inspection method and a laser welding quality inspection device for correctly inspecting the welding quality in the laser welding, in particular, the sheet lap welding. PSOLUTION: In the laser lap welding, laser beams 7 for illumination are irradiated from a beam irradiation apparatus 3 on a rear end portion 6 of a molten pool 5 formed in a vicinity of a keyhole 4 of a work 2 to be welded during the welding, and the reflected light 11 from the rear end portion 6 of the molten pool 5 is received by a light reception apparatus 10, and converted into electric signals according to the intensity of the reflected light 11. A processor 13 performs the operation such as normalization based on the intensity of the electric signals, determines acceptance/rejection of the welding quality, and outputs the result thereof. The value from which the result of inspection of "acceptance" by the test welding is obtained is selected for the mean value used in the normalization of the processor 13. PCOPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
