The device has an autoclave vertical piston with a transfer pressure chamber separated from a slitter pipe area. A core transfer liner is led to a lower end of a core liner by the rotation of a crank lever of a manipulator. The core liner is sealed to a pressure chamber housing by a lip seal, so that increase in pressure pushes the piston to hydraulically move a sediment core in to the transfer line.
