THE MODEL TEST METHOD TO ESTIMATE THE CAVITATION EROSION USING A PARTIAL BLADE MODEL AT CAVITATION TUNNEL

A method of evaluating erosion due to cavitation of a propeller for a ship by using a partial wing and a partial wing model is provided to perform a test on cavitation and erosion evaluation by using a large partial wing model to achieve cavitation erosion evaluation. A method of evaluating erosion due to cavitation of a propeller for a ship includes a step(S100) of confirming a cavitation range of an eroded propeller, a step(S200) for extending only a propeller wing such that the propeller wing includes the eroded cavitation range to form a partial wing model, a step(S300) of calculating Reynold number, the number of cavitations and an angle of attack with respect to each point of a real propeller and a model propeller, and a step(S400) of performing a cavitation erosion test on the partial wing model using the number of cavitations, the angle of attack and flux as experimental conditions.
