PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of low-temperature thermal decomposition and a furnace for low-temperature thermal decomposition adapted to perform efficient low-temperature thermal decomposition of a waste material reliably avoiding a decomposition temperature at which a large amount of dioxin and/or NOx is produced without implementing any complicated heat management and without using a large amount of supplementary fuel.;SOLUTION: The method includes firstly pouring an ash which contains potassium carbonate as a combustion enhancing catalyst into an interior of a low-temperature thermal decomposition furnace to a given thickness; scattering a combustion improver on a top surface of the ash and then pouring a waste material in; and blocking the low-temperature thermal decomposition furnace from the external atmosphere. The method further includes subsequently igniting the combustion improver scattered in a boundary area between the ash and the waste material; rectifying an external air by means of magnetic force to supply an air quantity necessary to achieve low-temperature combustion of the waste material into an interior of the ash; and removing smoke, carbon monoxide, and the hydrocarbon, etc. in the exhaust gas produced by the low-temperature thermal decomposition of the waste material and discharging a resultant gas to the ambient air.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT
