The method involves receiving a complete tissue portion (1) and a contrast-free target area as a three-dimensional mask image data set (2) comprising an X-ray device. A difference image data set (7) is automatically determined from a contrast agent data record (4) and the mask image data set. The contrast agent data record is registered with the mask image data set. An average value of gray levels of the segmented tissue region in the difference image data set is automatically determined after a segmentation of a tissue region in a difference image data set. An independent claim is also included for an X-ray device.
