The present invention relates to a rainfall alarm apparatus and a method of generating a rainfall alarm. Provided are the rainfall alarm apparatus and a method of generating a rainfall alarm using the same, and the apparatus includes: a rainfall sensor to measure an amount of rainfall; at least one rainfall intensity event reference table having event information, which is sequentially set according to a rainfall intensity, to issue a rainfall alarm; a rainfall detection time table to store a time whenever a predetermined amount of rainfall is observed; a recent period rainfall amount reference table which is set to correspond to any one reference of the rainfall intensity event reference table according to a rainfall of a recent predetermined period; a unit time rainfall database to record a cumulative rainfall amount in a unit time; and a central controller to calculate the rainfall intensity and generate the event information corresponding to the calculated rainfall intensity with reference to the rainfall intensity event reference table when rainfall is observed from the rainfall sensor.
