Provided is a method and apparatus for fault injection and fault tolerance analysis. The device for fault tolerance analysis injects defects into the simulation of a design based on the information based on extracted design information and parameters, and analyzes the effect of faults in the simulation. The fault tolerance for fault injected to the simulation by the device for fault tolerance analysis is analyzed. And the effect of the fault tolerance mechanism of the design is analyzed. The apparatus includes an information extracting part; a fault injecting part; and a fault tolerance analyzing part.
