Plate Tectonic Behaviour in the East Mediterranean Region To Be Detected by Baseline Variations from Satellite Laser Ranging

摘要

Various satellite laser ranging network configurations proposed for monitoring crustal motions in the Eastern Mediterranean are confronted with current geophysical hypotheses concerning these motions. A synthesis is made of previous discussions among investigators, aiming at a first order network design as an input to the development of a dedicated measurement strategy, taking into account constraints such as imposed by the availability of equipment.
