Modularization and Automated Layout Planning of Intralogistics Equipment for Modular Container Plants in the Process Industry

The modularization of logistic matters and the development of automatic layout planning of modular container systems is one of the main focuses of the research project ModuLOG. Initial studies confirm the need of new materials handling and storage components for the modular chemical production. The proposed live storage system container meets the requirements of modular production systems. In addition to the production and the developed storage modules, additional modules exist which have to be arranged in an intelligent manner to each other. This is achieved by means of the developed automatic layout planning method.
