Investigations on the distribution of the swede midge (Contarinia nasturtii Kieffer) in the palatinate and control of the first generation via a temperature model

Regional appearance of the swede midge (Contarinia nasturtii) in the vegatable production area of the palatinate was observed during two years. Control of the first generation by using a temperature modell by NOLL (1959) was investigated. There are differences in the regional appearance and distribution in the field. Via the temperature modell it is posible to determine the first appearance of the insect almost exactly. By conrolling the first generation further generations cannot develop extremely.
