A training programme on testing of Fire Extinguishers as per IS 940, IS 2171, IS2878, IS 10204 and IS 13849 was organized by Mechanical Section of WRO Laboratory on 17 March 2004. Licensees of fire extinguishers located in Western Region of the Bureau attended the programme. In the welcome address, Ms Shobha Hegde, Scientist T and Head, WRO Laboratory highlighted that the objectives of the training programme were to ensure that uniform method of testing is followed at both places, that is, BIS laboratory and licensees' laboratory. This is a useful course, she said, to the newly joined testing personnel in the factories as it also helps to clear any doubts regarding the interpretation of Indian Standards/ test methods.
