Flowering behaviour of six varieties of cashew (Anacardium occidentale L.) under terai agro-climatic zone of West Bengal

Cashew (Anacardium occidentale L.), belonging to family Anacardiaceae, is one of the most important commercial plantation crops of our country, which today is deemed as the source of dollar earning crop. As cashew is a highly cross- pollinated and heterozygous in nature, there is a great variability in vigour, productivity, sex-ratio and also fruiting behavior. Selection of suitable variety with short and synchronized flowering is of practical importance.
