Studies on the 'npk requirement of clonally multiplied cashew (Anacardium occidentale L.)' (Grafts) in sandy soils of bapatla, andhra pradesh

The cashew (Anacardium occidentale L.) is at present commercially cultivated through clonally multiplied grafts in Andhra Pradesh as well as in India. The nutritional requirement of the cashew is so far studied for seedling origin plantations. The present study with 3 levels of N,P and K were studied for its growth and yield characters. In the pre-bearing stage the growth parameters like plant height, stem girth and canopy area were much influenced by the higher doses of Nitrogen and Nitrogen and Phosphorous combinations. Similarly the initial harvesting period, the cumulative nut yield per tree was influenced by the Nitrogen and NP doses and to little extent to the NPK nutrient combinations in the period of study. The cashew is responding well primarily for Nitrogen, and also to other nutrient combinations.
