Synthesis of structure-controlled organometallic complexes based on the chemistry of polyphosphorus ligands O=P[O(CH2)(3)PPh2](3) (1), PhP[O(CH2)(3)PPh2](2) (2), P[O(CH2)(3)PPh2](3) (3), P[O(CH2)(10)PPh2](3) (12), and PhP[O(CH2)(10)PPh2](2) (13), with [(mu-Cl)(1,15-C8H12)Rh](2), in which 1, 12, and 13 carry out a typical bridge-splitting reaction of peripheral phosphines with the Rh-dimer, while 2 and 3 complex with rhodium through bridgehead phosphite and two terminal phosphines leading to replacement of the 1,5-cyclooctadiene ligand also, is reported.
