An experiment was conducted during the wet season of 1995 to find out the optimum seeding density in nursery, age of seedlings and spacing on growth and yield of hybrid rice (APHR-2). Grain yield of this hybrid was significantly higher in the crop, transplanted with 35 day-old-seedlings over that with 25 and 45 day-old-seedlings. However, the yields in the latter two treatments were comparable. The crop transplanted at 15 X 15 cm spacing resulted in significantly higher yield than that at 15 X 20 cm spacing. Similarly, the crop transplanted using the seedlings raised in the nursery with a seeding density of 35 g m~(-2), resulted significantly higher yield than 20 and 50 g m~(-2).
