摘要

A field experiment was conducted during the wet season of 1993 and 1994 to study the effect of water and weed management practices on weed growth and performance of transplanted rice. Submerged condition of field reduced the crop-weed competition and increased the grain yield by 20.4% and decreased the dry matter of weeds by 28.0% over saturated condition. Hand weeding and chemical weed control through butachlor @ 1.5 kg ha~(-1) were found equally effective in reducing population and dry matter of weeds, improving grain yield, panicles m~(-2), grains panicle~(-1) and 1000-grain weight besides significantly superior to mechanical weeding and unweeded check treatments. An increase of 13-24% in grain yield was recorded due to adoption of weed management practices.
