摘要

The C_(13), C_(14), C_(18) and C_(19) isoprenoid methyl ketones and linear methyl ketones from C_9 to C_(21) were identified by GC/MS ina Tasmanian tasmanite bitumen. The C_(13) and C_(18) isoprenoid ketones are proposed to be derived from phytol and the linear methyl ketones from #beta#-oxidation of the corresponding alkanes. The C_(14) and C_(19) isoprenoid methyl ketones are proposed to be derived from oxidation of double bonds inthe side chainof tricyclooctaprenol or the corresponding unsaturated hydrocarbon, tricyclooctaprenene.
