Scientific data and results of technological tests of new and advanced metallurgical and biochemical processes of gold extraction are generalized. Special attention is devoted to the development of bioengineering methods of stripping and extracting metals from rebellious materials. Using infrared spectroscopy the composition of the resulting complex compounds is determined and the mechanism of the process established. The physico-chemical foundations of and conditions of the process of absorption of dissolved and colloidal gold by microscopic fungi are considered. Aqueous alkali solutions of organic cyanide-containing (malononitrile, acetone cyanohydrin), sulfur-containing (thiosulfate, thiocyanate), and chloride hypochlorite reagents are studied and the mechanism by which gold and silver are dissolved in these ' reagents are investigated. Investigations of the structural transformations and thermal activity of pyrite and arsenopyrite in mechanochemical treatment are performed by X-ray spectrum analysis. A technology for extracting gold and silver from rebellious sulfide concentrates based on mechanochemical disintegration, heat treatment, and sorption leaching is developed. Technologies for processing the tailing dumps of gold-extracting plants that produce additional extraction of significant quantities of gold out of mineral stock not presently included in the balance because of not being economically workable at enterprises of Siberia and the Transbaikal Region are proposed.
