摘要

We have constructed a mathematical model of the electrolytic production of zinc from the aqueous sulfate solutions, on the basis of which we have created a program in the language QBASEUS. In this program we have used the minimal number of the conditions that are necessary to calculate the material balance, the voltage balance, and the heat balance of the electrolysis process. The program has been verified for optimizing the process with regard to the specific electric power consumption. In the found optimal conditions, the electrolysis of the zinc can be performed with the bath voltage 3.683 V, the zinc current yield 90.8 percent, and the electric power consumption approx 3330 kW centre dot hr/t.
