Characteristics of fluorite mineralization from the Mt. Blegos

Fluorite mineralization occurs in the broader region of the Blegos mountain at the contact of dolomite with volcanoclastic rocks, especially in tectonically shattered rocks. In addition to fluorite also dolomite, apatite, calcite, stibnite, chalcostibite, valentinite, romeite and pyrite were also determined in the Blegos localities. The mineralization of fluorite is the most evident in the Osojnik area, where fluorite crystals with well developed faces can be found in the voids of silificated dolomite. Fluorite appears in two different colours, as purple and green coloured crystals. Transparent crystals with many well developed faces can also be found. The mineral sequence and the homogenization temperature of the fluid inclusions indicate that the purple fluorite crystalized first and at a higher temperature than the green coloured one.
