The voluminous Early Cretaceous "post-orogenic" magmatism in the Dabie orogen (e.g., Jahn et al, 1999; Ma et al., 1998) is part of the large-scale Late Mesozoic magmatism in eastern China (Wu et al., 2005). Several interpretations have been proposed for the geodynamic environments (e.g., Deng et al., 2007; Zhai et al., 2007; Zhang et al., in press). Along the Dabie-Sulu orogen, the collision and assemblage of the North China and South China blocks occurred in the Late Triassic (Li et al., 2000), which formed ultrahigh-pressure metamorphic rocks (Ames et al., 1993) and the Tan-Lu syn-collisional transform fault (Zhu et al., 2009). Several authors suggested that the collision event was not strictly related to the Early Cretaceous magmatism (Hacker et al, 1995; Tsai et al., 2000), which is supported by both its much younger occurrence than the Late Triassic post-orogenic alkaline rocks (Yang et al., 2005) and its wide distribution in and out of the orogenic belt.
