摘要

Callus induction and plahtlet regeneration protocol was optimized in Dlchanthium annulatum. 5.10 mg 2,4-D/litre with 0.2 or 0.5 mg BAP/litre induced vigorous growing calli in large frequencies from mrnature inflorescence explants. Shoot bud organogenesis occurred to a large extent in various combinations of IAA (1,3 and 5 mg/l) and BAP (0.2 and 0.5 mg/l). Roots could be induced in IBA supplemented medium. The hardened plants (73) on evaluation in the field, exhibited a wide array of variation for allquantitative traits studied. The spread of newly generated variation was more even in case of green fodder yield, branches/inflorescence, iriternodal length and tillers/tussock indicating the possibility of improving these traits using somaclonal variation. A large number of somaclones superior for various useful traits could be recovered.
