The field experiment was conducted on aquack and aric netrustalf which are the consist of ustalf ochrepts and Orthants of Inceptisols (salt-affected soils) of central Uttar Pradesh i.e. Regional Research Station, Daleeknagar (Kanpur Dehat), Farm of CSA University of Agriculture and Technology, Kanpur (U.R) during 1992.93 (Buol ef al, 1980). The experimental soils had pH. electrical conductivity and exchangeable sodium percentage 9.5, 0.70 and 38 respectively in 0-15 cm soil depth. The pH and electrical conductivity were measured in 1:2 soil water suspension. The experiment was laid out in split-plot design with four grasses viz.; Brachiaria mutica (Forsk) Stapf., Leptochloa fusca (Linn) R Beauv., Setaria sphacelata (Schum) Stapf., Hubb. and chlorisgayana (Kunth) in the main plots and three reclaimation measures viz; control (without any amendments), 50 q/ha FYM and 16 q/ha pyrite in the sub-plots as 1/3 dose with four replications as per guidelines suggested by PPCL (1986).
