摘要

The fungal diversity and composition in fodder cowpea rhizosphere were studied to understand the role of biotic interactions in achieving sustainable production, as the presence or absence of undesirable organisms or beneficial fungi may be used as introduction of soil health and productivity. The rhizosphere soil of cowpea was collected from cowpea fields at CR Farm, Indian Grassland and Fodder Research Institute, Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh, India. During the crop growth period, a total of 20 genera and 43 species were isolated from the cowpea rhizosphere. Out of these, Aspergillus spp. were the dominant fungi (15 species), followed by Trichoderma (6 species). The peak population of fungi was observed in July (808x105 cfu/g soil). The species richness was also maximum in July. Environmental factors (air temperature, soil temperature, relative humidity and rainfall) showed significant effect on population build up of fungal flora..
