Field experiments conducted for two consecutive years from 1994 to 96 to study the effect of cuttings, nitrogen and phosphorus levels on yield and nutrients uptake of oats indicated that the grain and straw yield were highest, when no cutting wasdone. When crop was harvested for forage at 55 DAS and then raised for grain production, it recorded maximum total dry matter production and N, P and Ca uptake. Highest green forage yield was recorded when cutting was done after 75 DAS. Green forage, grain,straw, total dry matter yields and N, P and Ca uptake increased significantly up to 100 kg N and 30 kg P_2O_5 /ha over no N and P application during both the years.
