Nitrogen, sulphur and their ratio in some commonly used feeds and forages

Optimum nitrogen: sulphurratio is necessary forefficient nitrogen utilization (Bouchard and Conrad, 1973, Arora et al., 1977), optimum microbial activity in the rumen to synthesize limiting amino acids (Bouchard and Conrad, 1973, Arora et al., 1974)and in consequence to enhance fiber digestibility (Barton et al., 1971). In view of this, a study was conducted to investigate nitrogen, sulphur and their ratio in some of the commonly used feeds and forages.
