摘要

Ten promising strains of sen grass (Sehirna nervosum ) were evaluated for forage yield and its contributing traits. The significant variations were observed for all the traits among the accessions under study. Maximum variability was recorded for plant weight and number of tillers (GCV 32.92 % and 30.82 % respectively). High heritability was observed for all the traits except leaf width. Green fodder yield showed a positive correlation with plant height (0.632) and number of tillers (0.411). Plant height had the positive high direct effect (0.409) and indirect effect via leaf length on forage yield. The study indicated that plant height, number of tillers and leaf length are important traits and greater weightage should be given to these traits while constructing selection criterion for forage yield improvement in Sehima nervosum.
