This article focuses on how business standards affect local companies. Standards may be viewed as both assets and barriers for local companies to enter a global market. Suppliers of BP in Azerbaijan have to comply with a wide range of standards including health, safety and environmental (HSE) standards, ISO standards, technical product standards and process standards.
